all in all there were 135 competitors from the provinces of Baler, Zambales, La union and Metro Manila.

As for the total number of participants in the event including THE TECHNICAL STAFF, SPONSORS, MEDIA AND GUESTS, who have registered, we have reached a total number of 233 participants. Excluding those who have gone to the event and did not register for an ID or a meal stub.....

It definitely was a successful event. I up to now would still get text messages from participants who cant forget how beautiful the event turned out, a thing that's quite uncommon since most of the time we do not actually take time to say a surfing event was so great even days after the event wrapped up. di ba??? we only remember it ending but never actually have the urge to text just to say it was so great...even the grommets became so emotional about the event..... whenever asked on stage to speak, they cant help but cry....!
The BOARDS MADE EVERYONE DROOOOOLLLLL...... quite an amazing site!!!
The winners could hardly carry all the prizes they won from SOUTHPOINT, SECTOR 9 DAKINE, FCS, STICKYBUMPS , accessories and apparel from BILLABONG, TRIBU, BADFISH, SANUK,XGAMEHK, with all the prizes displayed onstage everyone got hypnotized to go to the stage like bees around the jam pot!!!

as for the sector 9 raffle , perfect distribution of luck!!!! Lemon of La union got the first one, then the 2nd one went to the "secret spot" kid who was so happy he thanked THE FILIPINO CHANNEL ( just like how tv contestants would do it on tv) instead of saying thanks to the sponsors, hahha!!! and then the final sector nine, went to ALLEN DE VERA 3rd runner up in the men's open division hailing from Sabang!!! where okoy lives and where most of the surfers reside.... that's why when his name was called out the Sabang boys was ecstatic some even fell off their seats! am not exagerrating...hahha

I would like to commend the efforts of mine and okoy's personal and new friends who have and continuously supported us in whatever we do... to FREDDY RAZON-GONZALEZ and MOONY CASTILLO of the ALOHA BOARDSPORTS INC. , Asrai's Co-presentor for umm...well wow, the biggest sponsorship!!!about 70% of the whole event was through their generosity, bringing in SOUTHPOINT, DAKINE, FCS, STICKYBUMPS, and SECTOR 9 we can never thank you enough, Your support inspires us and reminds us that huge companies such as yours pay attention to local atheletes....Thank you for trusting me and okoy as well. thanks to JONCE, of the TEAM KUZBAX for the fabulous emceeing, commentating all day long under the heat of the sun with no complaints except that he needs his i-pod and laptop beside him all the time for helping us in every possible way. We did it online as he was in the states the whole time. I love you Jake!!!! I wouldn't have finished the whole without you and thanks for teaching me photoshop while being busy with your designs for the event!!!!! muah!!!! We the United Pinoy Surfers and the Aurora Surf Riders Association are very happy that you all have helped us in making this event successful. We will always have you in our hearts.

I'd also like to commend ASRAI most especially for being brave enough to conquer all the hurdles, and tried everything just so they could learn how to put up a competition and stand on their own eventually.... now i can say you have had the best event by far, you learned so much because of your perseverance,,,, thanks it was really all for your surfing community.... that is your president rommel rojo's dream,to bring baler to a glorious rebirth wherein United Pinoy Surfers' goal is to continuously help the thriving surfing communities in the philippines.

As for the detractors.... sending really strong messages to the community and talking to people saying bad things about us.... we all know who you are....in fact majority of the people i've mentioned here know who you are!!! Sorry. although thanks for you have definitely made us know that we really have made a huge difference and that we have become so successful that your only way now is to talk behind our backs. thanks dude/s... we will pray for your peace of mind.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, Baler has introduced another event in their province... they are no longer just for shortboard but for longboard as well, ASRAI through their president and top surfers ROMMEL 'OKOY" ROJO and their vice president ARGIE "BADBOY" HUGO in cooperation with the UNITED PINOY SURFERS have definitely proven that together we could definitely make change happen...... thanks to everyone......

Congratulations, ASRAI! I read your comment about participants sending in text messages after the event, so although this is already long overdue, I think it is but right to let you know that I also enjoyed my stay there last feb. thanks for putting up this very informative website, and thanks also to all the Baler locals I interacted with, sina Marlon, Sandy, saka mga taga- Bay’s Inn. kahit medyo nawi-weirdohan sila na mag-isa lang ako, the people there didn’t make me feel like a stranger at all. Sana makadalaw ako uli dyan, kahit nood lang ng events. More power to your community. =)

We are glad that you have enjoyed the event. It is really our goal to help the surfing communities of the Philippines. I am wondering if you were a student of MAHDOX surf-school-baler last february or a student of our sister-school billabong san juan surf school? or you were there during the february shortboard event.... feel free to get hold of us anytime! We will help you in whatever assistance we could give concerning surfing and the spots! thank you!

Learn how to surf!!! learn from Baler's finest surfers such as rommel "okoy" rojo, Argie " Badboy" Hugo, Jefferson " Jeff Dela Torre!!! If they say only a surfer knows the feeling.... then we say " IT'S TIME YOU KNOW THE FEELING." hehehe
